Even the greatest player of all time needed help on the court and he got that with a decent guy by the name of Scottie Pippen. Oh, and his signature kicks aren’t that bad either. Over the years, Nike has blessed us with some classic colorways that turned heads. This new upcoming colorway feels like it should’ve been a part of Nike’s catalogue for a long time.
Part of one of the greatest rivalries in ‘90s basketball, the New York Knicks were a formidable team who were always on the cusp of hoisting the Larry O’Brien trophy at the end of the season. They were led by a perennial star and workhorse, Patrick Ewing. One game, Pippen rose up and posterized Ewing, creating a spectacular image that will last a lifetime.
Nike has decided to honor that lovely Scottie Pippen and Knicks relationship with a colorway that would look great to rock in the Garden. Sporting a white leather upper with Royal “AIR” lettering on the sides, pops of orange accents are seen on the tongue, heel and outsole to complete the NY Knicks theme. Other details include Scottie Pippen and Patrick Ewing’s “33” embroidered on the heel to complete the style altogether.
Retailing for $160, look for the Nike Air More Uptempo Knicks at select Nike stores and online on September 19th.
